This is an excellent question. Our tire mounts have a base plate 24" long and is made of steel. They are the longest in the industry and help ensure a safe distance from the vehicle. In addition, the heavy steel plate will not bend or rise up when wind force is directed against the Wonder Pole. Properly positioned your Wonder Pole will not contact your car, truck or RV. Most competitors models are aluminum and only 14" long which can present a problem in this area. All of our tires stands are made by us and meet commercial standards.
