Wind Tracker Wind System Application

Wind Tracker 315 - Item# wdws315

If you are going to mount the Wind Tracker Wind System on a structure, building or railing, choose the Wind Tracker 315 (Item# wdws315). The benefit of using the Tracker 315 atop a structure is immediate visibility from various locations by everyone on site.  The Tracker 315 can also be used to considerable advantage for alerting offsite responders to wind direction when approaching the site. It allows you to lower the telescoping Wonder Pole to 70" to avoid reaching overhead when replacing the Tracker. The unit consists of one telescoping fiberglass 3 section pole that extends up to 15'. The base section of the pole is 1.25", the center section is 1.0", and the top mast is .75". The Tracker rotates freely on the top section of the Wonder Pole. The wdws315 Wind Tracker Wind System mounts to the surface or structures by using a variety of methods. You can mount it to a flat surface using our optional rm10 roof mount, or clamp it to a railing. A protective high density polypropylene sleeve is provided for protection against metal to pole contact. The unit is extremely strong, long lasting, and weighs approximately 5 pounds. The wdws315 is a complete set except for any mounting brackets. You can choose the color of the Tracker, Alert Orange, Item#wdws315_6001 or Black & Yellow Item#wdws315_6002.

Note: Wind directions and movement can be vastly different at various heights due to wind currents, obstructions, or the lack of, and other factors. The best place to place the Wind Tracker is at ground level at or near the actual “Evacuation Lane”. The benefit of using the Tracker 315 atop a structure is immediate visibility from various locations by everyone on site to determine in a general sense the current wind directions. Ground level units may not be in the immediate vicinity for the person or persons for wind movement observation. Safety managers should walk the Evacuation Route to determine if one or more ground units are needed.  This will depend on several factors such as buildings, fences, landscaping, etc. The evacuee should be able to determine the direction of the wind along the entire route until reaching the safe staging area.
